Welcome to the Mess in My Head

Literally everyone tells me I should write a blog, do a podcast, or start a YouTube channel.Well… this is me doing that.

Hopefully, I’ll be able to introduce myself to people who don’t yet know me—or just stay in touch with those who do.

I’ve spent most of my life between worlds—between the U.S. and Honduras, between music and paint, between passionate, fiery faith and quiet moments of doubt. And somewhere in all of that, art became the language I didn’t know I needed.

This blog is a space where I’ll share more than just my paintings. Here, I’ll tell the stories behind them.Sometimes I’ll write about a memory, or a moment of beauty I didn’t want to lose.Sometimes I’ll share what stirred me to pick up the cardboard and start dragging color across canvas.Sometimes I’ll tell stories from my life in Honduras.Sometimes I’ll brag on my three incredible kids and talk about how good God is.

You might find music here. You might find faith. You might find a little bit of both, tangled together like they always were.

You may plunge with me into the depths of imposter syndrome—because anyone who tries to do something worthwhile wrestles with that.

I’ll also be posting the stories behind specific paintings—the ones that have already found a home, and the ones still hanging on my walls. Because behind every bold brushstroke is a reason, a rhythm, or a wound. And sometimes, it’s fun to put words with the paint.

If you’ve ever lived between two cultures, or wrestled with purpose, or just wanted to make something beautiful out of the broken parts—then maybe you’ll find something here that feels familiar.

I’ve never really painted to appeal to religious sentiment, but to chronicle the culture—whether beautiful or broken—of my generation.

Welcome to the mess that is my brain. I’m glad you’re here.Try not to get lost.
